Lead Us On

A traveler walks with fellow believers along a sunlit road, following the way of Christ.

Philippians 2

Summary

A prayer for the Spirit to form the mind of Christ in a people who serve one another and shine with the Word of Life.

Lyrics

[Verse 1]
Jesus, You became a servant,
You obeyed the Father's will;
Even dying on the cross,
To the last, obeying still.
Now You call us to be like You,
Putting others first in love;
In our hearts we long to follow,
Yet our strength is not enough.
[Chorus]
God, You are at work within us,
By Your Spirit, make us new;
Form in us the heart of Jesus,
By Your power, see us through.
You will finish what You started;
So we, with confidence, arise.
Lead us on, for we are ready,
To follow You with lifted eyes.
[Verse 2]
Spirit, draw our hearts together,
Give to us the mind of Christ;
Teach us how to serve each other,
One in purpose, joined in love.
As we follow where You send us,
Let the life of Christ shine bright;
To a world that walks in darkness,
Holding forth the Word of Life.
[Chorus]
God, You are at work within us,
By Your Spirit, make us new;
Form in us the heart of Jesus,
By Your power, see us through.
You will finish what You started;
So we, with confidence, arise.
Lead us on, for we are ready,
To follow You with lifted eyes.
[Bridge]
God has raised You, lifted high,
Yours the Name above all names;
Every knee will bow before You,
Every tongue confess: You are Lord!
[Final Chorus]
God, You are at work within us,
By Your Spirit, make us new;
Form in us the heart of Jesus,
By Your power, see us through.
You will finish what You started;
So we, with confidence, arise.
Lead us on, for we are ready,
To follow You with lifted eyes.
